Northern Kentucky Tree Week

We'd like to invite you to join the Northern Kentucky Urban and Community Forestry Council and UK's Urban Forest Initiative (UFI) in celebrating Tree Week this October 10-19, 2025! Tree Week is an opportunity to celebrate trees throughout Northern Kentucky. We know that trees create a more powerful resource for wildlife when connected via corridors, and similarly, we can create a better celebration if all the Northern Kentucky cities celebrate together!

What is Tree Week?

Tree Week is a series of events dedicated to celebrating the trees in your community and the people that work hard to advocate for the tree canopy. These events can range from tree-centric book displays or poetry readings, tree crafts, concerts or yoga in the forest, planting or mulching, and other tree- or nature-themed activities. Tree Week originated in Lexington in 2018 but has since spread to over 20 other Kentucky communities, including Louisville, Bowling Green, and Frankfort, and in 2024, Northern Kentucky joined the fun. Thanks to those of you that participated!

How to join Tree Week:

Register your event on UFI's website at https://ufi.ca.uky.edu/treeweek, and when asked for "where," please list "Northern Kentucky," (in addition to your city/village/county name, if you choose).

How to find other Tree Week events:

Find the map at the bottom of the Tree Week webpage: https://ufi.mgcafe.uky.edu/treeweek, or search for @TreeWeekKY on Facebook and Instagram!
