2015 Kentucky Urban Tree Seminar
March 4 - 5, 2015
Owensboro, Kentucky

Sponsored by the City of Owensboro, the Kentucky Division of Forestry and the U.S. Forest Service

Wednesday, March 4 – Evening walk along Owensboro's Smothers Riverfront Park. Our walk will depart from the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Owensboro. We will tour the beautifully renovated park and hear from city horticulturalist Eddie Atherton and DeepRoot Green Infrastructure consultant Brenda Guglielmina about the renovation and local tree challenges and opportunities at the park. We will then walk to a local restaurant for dinner on our own.

Thursday, March 5 – The seminar will be held at the new Owensboro Convention Center. Our full list of speakers and agenda will be announced in early January. The seminar is designed for tree board members, municipal employees who take care of trees, local government officials – essentially people who love their community trees and want to know how to care for their community urban forest. Because of generous sponsorship – the seminar is free to attend and lunch is included. Advanced registration will be required.

A limited number of booths will be available for vendors who wish to have a display at the seminar – a small fee is anticipated.

A special room rate of $119 has been secured for the Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Owensboro/Waterfront for the night of March 4. This beautiful LEED certified, riverfront hotel sits right on the river and is the perfect location – next door to the convention center. To get this rate, enter the group code TRE or visit this link.

Full seminar details will be announced in early January, 2015, but please mark your calendar now to join us in March.
